Holiday cheer

The holidays are upon us so the time for decorating is fast approaching. I designed a holiday wreath for this year's Holiday By Design sponsored by DIFFA KC. This event raises money to help with the fight against HIV/AIDS in the Kansas City area. I am really excited about my wreath this year. It took me a while to figure out what to do but I think found the right look for my wreath. My wreath is a cross between rustic and modern handmade. If you are interested in this event, please stop by, it's a great event.

eye see u

our balls, originally uploaded by db 1920.

For Halloween, we had an office pumpkin decorating party. We were placed on teams and we decorated pumpkins for charity. The stacked eye balls are from my group. Clever right?! The picture is a bit fuzzy because I had to use my iphone, sorry. Wanna see more? Check out my flickr page to more pics from the party.

life changing

On Saturday, I went to the "O you" event sponsored by O magazine. It was a life changing experience for me. I was so impressed with the seminars and the high energy atmosphere. everyone was so happy to be there. I have been looking forward to this for months, I guess those ladies were too. I am so glad Oprah and the magazine decided to come Kansas City this year because I did not have to spend a lot of money to participate. I was able to walk to the event which was really nice. I have photos from the event on flickr. I had to use my iPhone to take photos, (its a long story) so the quality is not top notch.

The seminars I attended were:
Nate Berkus
Stacy London
Dr. Oz
Donna Brazile (last minute addition)
Martha Beck

I was so inspired by each seminar. I really felt each seminar was catered to me and my needs. This was one of the best things I spent my money on this year. It was certainly the best conference I have ever attended. Thanks Oprah!

Blog Action Day: climate change

Today is blog action day and the topic is climate change. I think I want to address climate change and health issues. I suffer from allergies and asthma and I know that the climate changes over the years has affected my health in a bad way. I have done some reading on this subject and the bottom line is this; in our daily lives we could do more to control how much climate change affects us. Using less energy and buying local foods is just some of the things we can do to improve our overall health. There is plenty of info out there so check out some of the links below. Do you part!
